Spelling Bee

Visual Thesaurus  has a cool Spelling Bee that actually adjusts itself to your spelling level and then keeps you moving upwards !! And it is entirely free … no sign in, no log on, no cost …

It works at all levels … even yours … and it gives definitions and maps of association and so much more. If you are interested in extending use of language at any level then this is really well worth your time and effort. Just the sort of site that you can pass on to people and they will get hooked on it.

tutpup

tutpup is an interactive basic skills set of tests … this is what they say about themselves:

Our aim is to provide simple, fun, competitive games that help children learn and gain confidence with Maths, English and other key skills and knowledge.

Our focus is on helping children gain confidence and mastery of basic educational skills. We don’t aim to replace teachers, schools or parents, but we do think that children can learn while playing fun games against other children from all over the world. Tutpup is free for any child to use and children can only participate with their parent or guardian’s approval. We collect only the minimum amount of information necessary to run the site and strive to exceed the highest standards of privacy and data .

It currently has four sections maths, maths mix, tables and spelling and each section operates at a variety of levels. You appear to be able to play against other people ( children) across the world. It is well worth reading the ‘help for parents’ section as the site builders seem to have tried very hard to make sure that the site is secure for young users.
