This is a free way of making soundtracks for all things … comes with lots of sounds to mix in a variety of genres … worth a look if you are trying to get children to compose their own tracks rather than look around the Web for copyright-free ones to use.
Weird music
Incredibox is one of the weirdest sound generating apps I have ever come across … could be good fun then !!! (acknowledgement : @johnmayo)
Creative Commons Digital Reources
The Blogger ‘ thecleversheep’ has produced a list of digital resources to try to make some sense out of the problems associated with copyright and digital publishing.
This is what he says about them: In an attempt to bring some order to the chaos of Creative Commons licensing, I’ve created a list of resources that educators might share with students as a starting point for all manner of creative projects. To explain a bit about each resource, I’ve appended a 3 word summary to each CC tools/resource. The podcast explains how teachers might leverage these resources to teach students about the Creative Commons...

Music, music, music …
I notice that the Northumberland Ngfl site has some terrific new music resources … well worth a visit to listen to the instruments of the Virtual Orchestra !
While you are thinking about music and singing check out the free songs and nursery rhymes on the Stuff4Teaching site.
Sourcing copyright-free music
This is what the site says for itself:
Musopen is an online music library of copyright free (public domain) music. We want to give the world access to music without the legal hassles so common today. There is a great deal of music that has expired copyrights, but almost no recordings of this music is in the public domain. We aim to record or obtain recordings that have no copyrights so that our visitors may listen, re-use, or in any way enjoy music. Put simply, our mission is to set music free.

This is the part of a major new development for ESP with plans to offer an increasing range of musical tools, resources and content that can be accessed direct from ESP’s online site or can be integrated into tools such as Honeycomb and j2e as well as Learning platforms such as Frog and LearningBeck.
