New HSE Whiteboard Safety Advice
The viral, almost completeness of every classroom having an ‘Interactive Whiteboard’ is coming of age as the earlier boards reach their best before dates. In contemplating their repacement the HSE (Health and Safety Executive) has some pointer that should be of interest to the purse holders and to all who use the boards on a daily basis.
This is what they say:
Recent technological developments in projector and interactive whiteboard design have allowed inherently safer “ultra-short throw” devices to be brought to market. These employ sophisticated optics to enable the projector to be mounted above the display screen and so close to it that it becomes impossible for a user to directly expose their eyes to the beam.
You can read the whole report here.
Thanks to my freinds in Kent for notification of this.
